The short version

Open the invoice page from the email and look at who sent it. If anything is wrong, choose Report this invoice, pick a reason and send. Do not pay if you are not sure.

Check first

Who sent this invoice

Timelydo is a tool that businesses and people use to send invoices. Timelydo does not send you invoices itself. Each invoice is sent by the person or business named on it.

  • The email and the invoice page both say who it is from, in the first lines.
  • Replies go to the sender's own email address, not to Timelydo.
  • The email comes from a Timelydo address, with the sender's name shown as the sender.

If you do not know the sender, or did not expect an invoice, do not pay it yet.

Timelydo never asks for card details by email

Timelydo never asks for card details by email. Only pay on the invoice page. If an email asks you to reply with a card number, or to pay somewhere else, do not.

When you pay on the invoice page, the payment is handled securely by Stripe. Your card details are never shared with the sender.

If you want to ask the sender about an invoice, use a phone number or email address you already know. Do not rely on contact details in a message you doubt.

Report it

Report this invoice

Every invoice email ends with a Report it link, and the invoice page has a report option too. Both open the Report this invoice dialog. It says: tell us if this invoice should not have reached you.

You chooseUse it when
I was not expecting this invoiceYou do not know the sender or the work.
The details are wrongYour name, the amount or other details are wrong.
It looks like a scamYou think it is fake or built to trick you.
Something elseNone of the above fits.

You can add What is wrong? (optional, up to 1000 characters) and Your email (optional). Then choose Send report. You see a thank you that says your report was received. Estimates have the same option: Report this estimate.

What happens next

  • The sender is never told who reported. The report is not shown in their activity.
  • Timelydo keeps your report, with the reason and details, for its team to look into. The team can void the invoice, or stop a seller from sending more invoices.
  • While a report is open, automatic payment reminders for that invoice are paused.
You may not get a personal reply, so leaving an email is optional. Reporting does not cancel anything for you. If you already paid, contact your card issuer or bank as well.

You can send up to 5 reports an hour from one address.

FAQ

Q

Will the sender know it was me?

No. The sender is never told who reported. The report does not appear in their invoice activity.
Q

Would Timelydo ask me for my card details by email?

Never. Timelydo never asks for card details by email. Only pay on the invoice page.
Q

I already paid. What should I do?

Contact the sender at an address you trust, and talk to your bank or card issuer. Sending a report does not refund a payment.
Q

Is this invoice from Timelydo?

Not directly. People and businesses use Timelydo to send their own invoices, and the invoice names who sent it. Timelydo itself is not the seller.
